The official Indian Consulate in Dubai has issued clear guidelines for Indian travelers coming to the UAE, after a ban on single-name passports was introduced on November 21.
Note: This rule is not applicable to UAE resident card holders. It only applies to those travelling on visit visas/visa on arrival/temporary visas.
The consulate listed two rules:
- Passports with one name: Passengers are eligible for Visa On arrival if the father’s/family name mentioned in the 2nd page is accepted
- The guidelines state that for visas issued with more than one name, passenger has father’s/family name mentioned in the SECOND page is accepted
The Indian Consulate clarified the rules
