It’s been a minute, but investors in Dubai are once again coming out with all guns blazing in a bid to acquire Liverpool F.C.

Dubai previously attempted to buy England’s most successful football club in 2007 for $360 million (AED 1.32 billion), however, that deal fell through. This time around, although the stakes are $5 billion (AED18.3 billion) high, it looks like Dubai is once again eyeing to purchase the US-owned club.

“I have been told that a Middle Eastern buyer is most likely for Liverpool right now. Either from the UAE or Qatar. Hearing one is going to make a proposal soon.”

The internet is under the impression that the Crown Prince of Dubai, HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum AKA Fazza will be the one bidding for Liverpool

Fans are seeing immense potential in Dubai owning Liverpool, with Mo Salah’s strong Arab fan base and prior interest being shown from the region

Apart from the Liverpool FC store at the Mall of the Emirates, Liverpool has a number of official stores in the UAE

For clarification, Abu Dhabi owns the Premier League club Manchester City (since 2008), leaving Dubai yet to fish from the pond as each emirate retains autonomy over its own region
